  • How To Buy Shop Items and Sell for Profit!

This is a really good way to make money and you can do it in pretty much any store you can think of. Last year I was looking into drop-shipping and I just knew it wasn’t for me, so I went more old school and aimed to buy items that were on offer and see if I could sell them online for a profit.

Would you believe it, I could! Now I cannot simply give you a list of items to bulk buy and sell, its simple but its not that simple. Visit your local store (for me in the UK this is a B&M) make sure you have Ebay to hand on your mobile phone, I find perfumes work really well for this but I have also found some gems in the home section.

Find a promotional perfume or body scent in store, search it on Ebay and change the filter to “sold items”, now what you are looking for here is items that have sold multiple times in the last 2 days and of course that have sold at a higher price than what they are available in store.

B&M is a great store for this as they often sell things below the recommended retail price. Below is a women’s scent gift set which I listed on Ebay, Sold, purchased from the store, packaged and sent on the same day. The gift set was purchased for £6, the buyer paid £12.50 and I offered free delivery, Delivery was £2.94 which left me with a profit of £9.56 (I already had what I needed to safely post this, I suggest safe but cost-effective ways to safely send items).

Now I know £3.56 profit isn’t going to set the world alight or make me an overnight millionaire but for me, making a little extra money selling an item from a store I was already shopping at is both thrilling and any extra money is a good thing, in this situation I simply wanted a quick sale, previous sales were a few £ more than I listed at but there was about 12 hours between the listing and sale which I was very happy with.

I hope you found this helpful, get out there and I promise you will find these opportunities in most stores!

  • What is Matched Betting and is it Profitable?

If you are someone that struggles or has previously struggled with a gambling addiction I strongly advise you do not follow this strategy. Matched Betting is a strategy where you look to take advantage of the offers that betting companies provide new/existing customers. An example of matched betting is as follows.

You receive an offer “Bet £5 and receive a £5 free bet”. You place a £5 bet on the betting site, you will then use what is called a betting exchange, which is basically a betting site that allows you to bet against other people rather than the bookie, these exchanges allow you to “lay” a bet (bet that the outcome will not occur). You will use a matched betting calculator, input the odds of the initial bet and the stake used followed by the odds of the lay bet (the calculator will tell you what stake to use). Place the stake the calculator advises you.

When this bet concludes you will usually lose around 50p, however you now have a £5 free bet, you will repeat this process using the £5 free bet to lock in guaranteed profit. The process differs ever so slightly as now on the matched betting calculator you will use the “free” bet option to let the calculator know you are using the free bet and it will adjust the stakes to help you lock in this profit.

Of course this is only a brief overview of what matched betting is, I intend to use this blog as a way to highlight ways in which money can be made, there is so much information out there for all topics I will eventually cover, but I wish to highlight them and give my thoughts on which ones are the best, one of my favourite free websites to use is matchedbettingblog.com, they have the matched betting calculator I mentioned and tirelessly update their website with free bets that bookies are giving out so please take a look!
